About Valérie

Valérie Handal joined HarbourVest in 2006 and is a Managing Director on the firm’s secondary team, based in London. She focuses on secondary investments, including GP-led transactions and continuation vehicles, and serves as a Board Member of HarbourVest Global Private Solution and HSEC Lux, the firm’s evergreen private equity vehicles.

Her prior experience includes roles in investment banking and venture capital, where she worked on investment and advisory activities at Merrill Lynch, Banc of America Securities, and Softbank Europe Ventures. Valérie has also served on advisory boards for funds managed by Apheon, Astorg, CapVest, PAI Partners, Pollen Street Capital, and Waterland, among others.

Valérie graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BS (Honours) in Economics and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a native French speaker and speaks Spanish.
