David Atterbury

David Atterbury leads the firm’s efforts in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). As Head of EMEA, David is the lead executive responsible for oversight and engagement across the region. He works closely with regional counterparts to ensure global alignment on key initiatives and the continued delivery of excellence across our business around the globe. He is also head of the firm’s London office, helps lead the firm’s secondary investment activity, and is a member of the Secondary Investment Committee.

David joined HarbourVest in 2004. During his tenure, he has led several European secondary transactions, including Absolute Private Equity and SVG Capital plc. David also serves on a number of European fund advisory boards. David joined HarbourVest after five years with Abbey National Treasury Services Plc, where he was Director of Private Equity. His previous experience also includes five years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, which included a one-year assignment to Bridgepoint Capital in London.

David received a BSc (with honours) in International Management and French from the University of Bath in 1994 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997.
