About Alex
Alex Rogers joined HarbourVest in 1998 and is the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer. With the CEO, he is accountable for the firm’s corporate strategy, execution, and development of new capabilities. He is also responsible for the strategic direction, development, and overall performance of the firm’s product portfolio, including custom and evergreen solutions. In addition, he and his team support the CEO in the firm’s corporate development and partnership opportunities.
His prior experience includes serving as one of the co-heads of the firm’s co-investment business for 14 years, including nine years in London building the co-investment business in Europe and four years in Hong Kong overseeing the firm’s activities in APAC. He was also the first general manager of the firm’s private wealth business and oversaw the Quantitative Investment Sciences group for its first 10 years. He rejoined the firm in 2002 after receiving his MBA.
Alex graduated from Duke University with a BA in Economics, summa cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with high distinction and was named a Baker Scholar. He speaks French and serves on the advisory board of the Coach K Center on Leadership and Ethics at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
