David Morris joined HarbourVest in 2019 and oversees the tax structuring of all HarbourVest legal entities and portfolios, and provides tax transactional support to HarbourVest’s investment teams.
David joined the Firm from Fidelity Investments, where he was senior tax counsel. At Fidelity, his responsibilities included the structuring and due diligence of investments in pre-IPO companies, as well as support of Fidelity’s funds for institutional and high net worth investors. Prior to Fidelity, David was at Ropes & Gray LLP, where he represented private equity clients in a wide range of tax matters. David previously was at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he primarily advised clients on the tax aspects of derivatives transactions.
David received a BA (magna cum laude) in English Literature from Haverford College in 1997 and a JD from Columbia Law School in 2005, where he was named a James Kent Scholar. David is a member of Haverford’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
