Alex Rogers is HarbourVest’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and, alongside the firm’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is responsible for developing the overall business strategy and driving its execution through the development of new capabilities and products. He oversees HarbourVest’s Private Wealth efforts and HarbourVest’s Quantitative Investment Sciences group and supports the CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with corporate business development opportunities. He joined HarbourVest in 1998 as an associate and rejoined the Firm in 2002 after receiving his MBA.
Alex spent over nine years in London and four years in Hong Kong expanding and managing the direct co-investment team as well as HarbourVest’s overall business in Asia. He currently serves as a board member at Preston Hollow Capital. His previous experience includes two years with McKinsey & Company.
Alex received a BA (summa cum laude) in Economics from Duke University in 1996 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2002, where he graduated with high distinction and was named a Baker Scholar. Alex speaks French. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Coach K Center on Leadership and Ethics (COLE) at Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
